Class Schedule
Needlework classes at Cross Stitch Plus provide a fun way to learn a new skill while getting together with other cross-stitch enthusiasts. Class sizes are limited so sign up early. All classes are taught in the evening at the store. Some knowledge of counted cross stitch is expected for all classes. In some cases, experience with linen-weave fabric is also recommended.
Unless otherwise noted, classes are limited to adult stitchers.
We must receive your payment at the time of registration to hold your space. If you have to cancel, your payment will be refunded as long as you notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Please do not ask us to move you to another class nor refund your payment unless we have 48 hours notification that you can not attend a class.

Stitching on Linen-weave -- $12.00 (includes materials)

This class will take you beyond the beginning "x" on aida fabric. We will stitch a small piece on a 25-count linen-weave fabric. We'll practice stitching with overdyed threads, metallic threads, and beads. We'll talk about how to determine your fabric size, where to start your stitching, how to keep a neater back, and how to wash your completed project. If you'd like, bring a piece that you are working on for "show & tell".
Introduction to Hardanger -- $12.00 (includes materials)

You'll find that Hardanger is not as "hard" as you might think. We will stitch a little heart to teach you things like kloster blocks, cutting, woven bars, and dove's eyes. We will be using 25-count fabric. Experience stitching on linen-weave fabrics is required.

BumbleBee Lace -- $12.00 + materials
4 Tuesdays, June 15, 22, 29 & July 6 (6:30 - 9:00)
or
4 Sundays, July 11, 18, 25 & Aug 1 (1:00 - 3:30)
In this summer class we will stitch Victoria Sampler's Bumblebee Lace. This design is about 5" x 5". It features hardanger, drawn thread, pulled thread, stumpwork and ribbon embroidery. This is an intermediate/advanced level class. Experience stitching on linen-weave is required.
You can choose to sign up for either the Tuesday evening classes or the Sunday afternoon classes. (The Sunday class will be limited to 7 people. We can accommodate more people in the Tuesday class)

Cross Stitch Tips & Tricks -- $15.00 (includes materials)

This is a discussion class with some "hands on". Learn about different fabrics (including linens) and fibers. Practice stitching on linen with metallics and beads. We'll talk about how to determine your fabric size, where to start your stitching, how to keep a neater back, and how to wash your completed project. We'll also discuss some of the "gadgets" available to make your stitching easier. If you'd like, bring a piece that you are working on for "show & tell".
